Well. I'm writing this message while sitting in our hotel with a precious bundle of sweetness sleeping on my lap :) WE HAVE OUR GIRL!!!!!!!!!!
She is absolutely amazing, and we are all head over heels for her! She has the most infectious giggle I have ever heard, and in spite of a pretty rough gotcha exchange, she has giggled and laughed so much! More than any other little one I know of, and I have had happy little babies... We are in awe, and so very, very blessed to have her in our arms at last.
Our flight into China was delayed, so we got in a little later than expected. After depositing our luggage in our room, we headed out with our guide for a quick trip to the local market to buy a bottle, and when we got back, the Orphanage director, and her assistant were waiting in the lobby with our little sweetheart. We hightailed it in there, and in the process, I have no real pictures of the moment I sid hello, and took her in my arms, but she was sooo upset! She went from slightly worried while we said hello, to terrified, and cried and screamed, and then threw up all over me. It was absolutely heartbreaking. We went upstairs, and I held her, and rocked her with her special lovie, and she settled in to me, and two hours later we were in the lobby completing our paperwork, and hearing the sweet tinkling of her precious little giggle as she played. It really is amazing - like music to a mamas heart :)
She has had other moments of grieving off and on, but is able to move through them, and let me comfort her. And... today she called me "mama" and "mommy", and even gave me my first kiss. Incredible.
